Questions we actually get
- What counts as a product?
- One product record in your catalogue — the thing a buyer sees as a single item. Translations, images, versions and channel listings are not counted separately; a product described in three languages is still one product.
- What happens if I reach my limit?
- You are warned as you approach it, and nothing you have already published stops working. You will not be able to create additional products until you move up a plan or remove some — and you can always export everything first.
- Can I get my data out?
- Yes, on every plan including Free, at no charge, in structured machine-readable form through the API and as an export. We regard that as a condition of being trusted with it.
- Do I need GDSN?
- Only if a buyer asks for it. No law requires product data to travel through a data pool — it is a requirement some large retail chains set. Most buyers in this market receive data as spreadsheets and PDFs today, and PIE serves them directly. If a retail listing does arrive later, your data is already structured to the GS1 Global Data Model, so publishing becomes a connector rather than a rebuild.
- Is the AI included?
- You can use your own model provider key on any plan, including Free — that is unlimited by us and billed by your provider. Platform-funded AI credits are included from Growth upward, reset monthly and do not roll over. When credits run out you are never blocked: you can add credits or switch to your own key.
- Can I change plans later?
- Yes, in either direction. If you move down and your catalogue exceeds the new limit, existing products keep working — you simply cannot add more until you are back under it.
