Data portability and switching

You can take your data out of PIE at any time, on any plan including the free one, at no charge. This page states what that means concretely, because a promise about portability is only worth what its detail says.
What you can export
Your product catalogue including all attributes and per-language values, category and field definitions, version history, digital assets and their metadata, grant records, quality and compliance results, channel and publication history, and the audit log.
How
Through the documented REST API, which covers every capability in the product, or as a structured export from the application. Both produce machine-readable output — JSON, CSV or XML depending on the resource — never a scanned document or a rendered report.
What it costs
Nothing, on every plan. There is no export fee, no switching fee and no charge for assistance with a routine export. We regard that as a condition of being trusted with your data, and it is increasingly a requirement of European law.
Timing
Export is available on demand while your account is active. On termination, your data remains exportable throughout the transition period before it is removed.
